Watch our explainer video:
How does it work?
Sign up and set your challenge! Once signed up, you will be able to set up your own fundraising page under the campaign, to raise much needed funds for Peter McVerry Trust. Each fundraising target will be set at €250, which help someone accessing a Peter McVerry Trust service to take the next steps towards their future. This can mean a suit for attending interviews, safety clothing like steel toe cap boots, a hard hat, or safe pass training. This will help remove any barriers and support people to access training, secure a new job or move on to a life of independence., but any amount raised will be very much appreciated by all within our services! Help us to open doors to people experiencing homelessness.
Together, we can make a big difference! Let’s come together this April (socially-distanced of course), and add a dash of positivity into the lives of many. Ohhh! And don’t forget to share pictures along the way, it’s about the journey, not the destination, right?
You have questions, we have answers
What’s the “Active in April” challenge?
Active in April is a collaboration between DASH and The Peter McVerry Trust where we encourage the community to challenge themselves and get active in April.
You set your own challenge and can be anything you would like! All we ask is that you stay safe, stay socially distant and not to “over do it” and injure yourself.
Is it for the whole month of April?
The campaign will run for the whole month and DASH will devote each Sunday morning’s DASHERS to the rescue community coffee morning to this campaign. However, if you are not obliged to do extra challenges if you have completed your challenge before the end of April
What’s the challenge?
You set your own challenge! It can be anything from 10 000 steps a day to 100km for April, cycling, eat clean, etc. It’s your challenge, you decide!
How do I claim my free coffees?
We will send your coffee code via email before the first weekend in April. To claim your coffee code, you will need to download the Squid Loyalty App. Once downloaded and registered with the app, click on “settings”, click on “Redeem a Code”, and enter the special coffee code.
My phone is not compatible with the Squid App
Not to worry. Please get in touch by emailing email@example.com
How do I raise money?
There are numerous ways to raise money:
1) €21.60 of your participation donation will be donated to the Peter McVerry Trust (€4.40 goes towards the t-shirt)
2) You can buy an e-raffle ticket to stand the chance to win a €250 DASH lifestyle hamper. Tickets cost €10 each and all proceeds will be donated to the Peter McVerry Trust
3) Setup up your own fundraising page under the JustGiving campaign page
How much do I have to raise?
We would like to encourage participants to raise €250 each through the Just Giving Campaign Page.
What if I don’t raise much money?
We have no minimum or maximum amount that we would like our participants to raise.
How will the money I have raised help the Peter McVerry Trust?
All donations help someone accessing a Peter McVerry Trust homeless or housing service to take the next steps towards their future. This can mean a suit for attending interviews, safety clothing like steel toe cap boots, a hard hat, or safe pass training. This will help remove any barriers and support people to access training, secure a new job or move on to a life of independence., but any amount raised will be very much appreciated by all within our services.
Do I have to prove I have done the challenge?
Post pictures on social media and use the hashtag #ActiveInApril2021 and tag both DASH Container Café and The Peter McVerry Trust.
I got my t-shirt but it’s too big/small. Can I change it for another size?
We try our best to fulfil everyone’s requests and we have tried to anticipate the correct sizes and ordered them a head of time to ensure everyone gets a t-shirt. However, we may not have all the sizes available, especially coming closer to April. So it’s best to jump in early!
